Big Data & Hadoop Jobs in 2015 – Our prediction

What does the future hold for the big data and Hadoop job market in 2015?

The words Big Data and Hadoop have certainly been on the tip of many people’s tongue in 2014 and you can guarantee that almost everyone who has anything to do with the IT world have come across these terms at one point or another.

Big data has blown up over the last few years and you only have to look at the major job boards to see how many big data and Hadoop jobs there are out there in comparison with other technologies.

Contractors are currently commanding high daily rates and there is a shortage of the most highly skilled resources. Big Data consultancies and specialist recruitment companies are springing up all over the place in wake if the current Big Data and Hadoop skills demand, but what does the future hold for the big data and Hadoop job market in 2015?

One prediction is that the big data and Hadoop Job market may start to slow down in 2015. This is due to companies bringing Hadoop skills in-house as the skillset is not that difficult to understand.

Our prediction based on information gathered by speaking with candidates over the last few months is that that 2015 will be a big year for big data and Hadoop and that rates will stay high for the foreseeable future at least. There is an air of optimism about the big data and Hadoop job market and we predict that the high rates demanded by contractors will stay with us for some time yet.
